Our Mission & Vision
Our Vision
We believe that every child deserves to feel seen, safe, and understood—no matter what emotional "weather" is inside of them. What’s the Weather Inside of You? was created to help families talk openly about feelings like sadness, anxiety, boredom, and joy in ways children can understand and trust. This story is a bridge: between parent and child, between emotion and understanding, and between the weather inside and the steady love that holds it all.
How This Book Will Transform the Reader
This book will shift how children and their grown-ups understand their emotions. Readers will come away with:
- Language for their feelings: Through simple, playful storytelling and the weather metaphor, children will begin to name what they feel and talk through it with love.
- Confidence to express ALL their feelings, even the big ones: Momma Storm, Rain and Sky move through joy, sadness, loneliness, anxiety, joy, anger, and peace- children will feel seen and empowered to share what’s true for them.
- Tools for emotional regulation: The steady presence of Momma Storm, who lovingly helps her daughters Rain and Sky navigate all their emotions, shows readers what it means to return to peace—on the inside and outside.
- A deeper connection with others: Families, therapy sessions and classrooms will find this story opens up powerful conversations not only about emotion but also empathy and feeling emotional safety with one another.
Whether a child is feeling sunny, cloudy, stormy, or somewhere in between, this book gently teaches: Your emotions are part of you. No matter what the emotional weather is inside of you, you get to feel them, speak to them, and learn from them. And you never have to face them alone.
Ages
For 6-year-olds, the story’s simple language, emotional rhythm, and playful repetition make it easy to follow and deeply engaging. The weather metaphor—alongside Sky’s joy and calming moments—connects with their imagination and natural emotional flow.
For 8-year-olds, the deeper layers—like emotional regulation, empathy, and how Momma Storm helps bring peace during conflict—resonate with their growing emotional awareness. The story gently introduces the idea that there’s more to feelings than just happy or sad.
Whether you’re six or sixty-six, this story reminds us: Feelings—like weather—don’t need permission to come or go. But we can learn to meet them with love.
